	BENCH KIT:

T he "Basic Bench Kit" consists of two metal leg panels and all the coach bolts and screw necessary for fixing the timber and board in place. You supply the timber and board components from the cutting list provided. The rails are simply crosscut to length from standard timber sections (6" x 2" for the top rails and 4" x 2" for the shelf rails) and bolted to the leg panels. The bench top and shelf are then laid in place and screwed down. No joinery experience or special skills

	*are needed to complete the project* and the construction method provides an attractive and extremely stable mounting for the lathe.

	ADJUSTABLE ANTI-VIBRATION FEET:


	Anti-vibration feet for the bench are not strictly necessary but do provide the optimum machine mounting on resonant floors. They also *provide the height and levelling adjustment where the floor is uneven*. (The standard bench sets the lathe centre height at 1080mm/42.5". The leg panels incorporate outrigger feet which have holes so that timber packing can be screwed in place to

further raise the bench height to whatever amount is suitable to you. The feet raise the bench a further 1.5" at their minimum height so that the standard bench with A/V feet and no additional packing gives a lathe centre height of 1120mm/44" the feet can be adjusted to give a maximum height of 1220mm/48".)

	CONTROL BOX MOUNTING ARM:

	I n our view the best position for the control box is slightly to the right of the headstock at about chest level. The box can be fitted at the back of the lathe but may be have to be packed out to bring it within comfortable reach.. *The alternative is to mount the box on our "Control Box Mounting Arm" which provides height and projectional adjustment as required.*

	BOWL TURNING ATTACHMENT:

	A 16" diameter may be as large a piece as many turners will ever wish to turn and this can be accommodated over the bed of the HDB200XL. The advantage of a swivelling headstock however is not found simply in being able to clear the bed for mounting even larger diameters. Tool manipulation, especially in hollow form and conventional bowl turning will usually be found easier when standing directly in front of the face or aperture being shaped - irrespective of work diameter.

	T he "Bowl Turning Attachment" for the HDB200XL consists of a holder which is permanently fitted to the bench at the left of the headstock, and a telescopic arm that slides in and out of the holder. The end of the arm has a platform for mounting the

standard cross-slide/tool rest holder assembly from the lathe bed, from which it can be released by means of a single nut. In its new position on the BTA, it provides for an unobstructed range of

toolrest location around any bowl or hollow form up to the maximum capacity of the lathe. (An additional cross-slide assembly can be purchased and left permanently mounted on the BTA if required.) When not in use the complete arm can be slid out of its holder.
